Capital Dog Training is owned by Jena Weiss, who has been working professionally with animals since 1987. In 1995, Jena turned her lifelong love of dogs into a career and began helping people have better relationships with their dogs. She has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from The University of Connecticut, is a graduate of The United States K-9 Academy, and regularly attends conferences on dog training and animal behavior. Jena is a Professional level member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.
In addition to having worked as a Pet Therapy Associate for the Connecticut Humane Society, Jena volunteers with her Certified Pet Therapy Dog, Shane. Since 2004, they have been visiting patients at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Jena is also the evaluator for Hartford Hospital’s Pet Therapy Program.
She is proud to be personally training dogs in both Connecticut and Palm Springs, CA.
