Jena Weiss is the creator of Capital Dog Training. Originally from New York City, she grew up among artists in lower Manhattan. Working professionally with animals since 1987, Jena turned her lifelong love of dogs into a career in 1995, and began helping people have better relationships with their dogs. She has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from The University of Connecticut, is a graduate of The U.S. K-9 Academy, and is a Professional level member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.
Jena worked as a Pet Therapy Associate at the CT Humane Society, evaluated dogs for entry into Hartford Hospital’s Pet Therapy Program in CT, and volunteered at Hartford Hospital with her Certified Pet Therapy Dog, Shane. They visited patients together from 2004 - 2013.
After more than 2 decades in CT, she is still devoted to her clients and now personally trains dogs in Los Angeles, Malibu, and Palm Springs, CA.
